LAUNCH OF LOW-COST MOBILE DEVICE "MESSAGE PHONE"

Synchronica plc, the AIM listed mobile email, instant messaging and data synchronisation provider, and its collaboration partners, will launch the MessagePhone, a low-cost messaging-centric device aimed at emerging markets, on Wednesday, 10^th February in London.

The launch will be attended by the media, institutional investors and private client brokers.

The MessagePhone comes bundled with Synchronica Mobile Gateway and an HTML browser to enable push email and mobile synchronization services, mobile IM, web browsing and access to social networking sites.

At the launch there will be presentations from the collaboration partners and the industry analyst house Informa. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to road test the MessagePhone.

Commenting on the launch, Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica, said, "With two contracts for the MessagePhone already agreed, and a significant addressable market in emerging economies - where the mobile Internet is a cost-effective alternative to the lack of fixed-line/PC penetration - we are confident that the device will prove successful."
