Available immediately, the OGO handsets are being demonstrated at Synchronica's stand - 2A35.

The handsets enable India's 'On-the-GO' young consumers and prosumers to send and receive mobile emails and Instant Messages, receive status updates from social networking sites, and subscribe to live Web-Feeds. The OGO O-77 Konnect and O-78 Touch devices are both EDGE-enabled and optimized for the fast-growing Indian market. Both devices are packed with enhanced features including a 3.2 megapixel camera, optical track pad, MP4 and RMVB video playback.

Both devices are based on the popular MediaTek platform, optimized for Mobile Gateway to provide messaging services directly to the native clients found on the device. This unique approach delivers the best possible user experience with minimal memory footprint, enabling these affordable devices to provide Smartphone-like features and deliver the best possible user experience with negligible memory footprint.

With the service hosted in their own Indian-based data centre, Bright Telecom India Pvt. Ltd. fully complies with strict lawful interception legislation, recently introduced by the authorities in India. Alternatively, Mobile Gateway can also be deployed and hosted by local mobile operators, in their own data centres, if required.

Synchronica has a strong and growing foothold in India with its affordable, white labelled mobile messaging solution. In addition to Bright Telecom, the company has agreements in place with a further two device manufacturers targeting the Indian market and has live deployments with two large Indian mobile operators via its 2010 acquisition of email-to-SMS vendor iseemedia.

A.P. Srivatsan, Chief Operating Officer of Bright Telecom India Pvt. Ltd, comments: "Our OGO range of handsets is aimed at young, on-the-go consumers and prosumers in India, who want to be able to communicate with business colleagues, friends and family via email, IM and social networking communities while on the move. We chose Synchronica Mobile Gateway because it gives us a proven, scalable and full-featured mobile messaging solution that can be branded by us and priced extremely competitively. The devices are being launched with a leading Operator in India at an aggressive price point with a data and voice plan that is even more aggressive".

Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica, said: "Our dual strategy of targeting both mobile operators and device manufacturers with the standards-based Mobile Gateway is continuing to bear fruit. Our partnership with Bright Telecom enables them to differentiate their OGO handsets by offering an addictive mobile messaging solution powered by Synchronica that will appeal to India's gadget-focused young people."
