The Company received notification on 12 July 2005 that, following a purchase of
250,000 ordinary shares of 1p each ('Ordinary Shares') on 6 July 2005, INVESCO
English and International Trust plc has an interest in 655,250 Ordinary Shares
in Synairgen, which represents approximately 3.02 per cent. of the Company's
issued share capital.  These Ordinary Shares are registered in the name of Chase
Nominees Limited.
