Dear Shareholders,

Symphony International Holdings Limited (LSE: SIHL) is pleased to announce the launch of our resort project in Desaru, Malaysia. Opened on 6 September 2020, and operational under the One&Only brand, the resort is called the One&Only Desaru Coast ("O&O").

Desaru is located on the east coast of Malaysia, very close to its border with Singapore. This makes the property very accessible and now provides travellers from Singapore with the first truly luxury resort destination within less than two hours driving distance. International travellers can fly into Singapore Changi, Kuala Lumpur International, or Johor Bahru's Senai International airport.

The resort has two championship golf courses, a beach club, a dedicated children's club, and also houses the first Chenot Spa in Asia. Chenot is a leader in health wellness, offering an array of programmes in preventative and rejuvenative care. 

We are pleased to report that in spite of ongoing travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the opening of the resort has been well received within the local travel market. We have been informed by the management of the O&O that they expect to close the first month of operations with around 77% occupancy. We feel this is an encouraging sign, given business is currently limited to domestic Malaysian tourism.

The resort also has several villas for sale at the property - and we have been encouraged by the level of interest in these from potential buyers.

The O&O Desaru Coast is a joint-venture between Symphony and an affiliate of Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the investment arm of the Government of Malaysia.
