Dubai - d2w® Oxo-biodegradable Plastic Launch


Symphony Environmental Technologies Plc ('Symphony' or 'the Group'), the degradable plastics and waste-to-energy Group, is pleased to announce the launch of d2w® in the United Arab Emirates, ('U.A.E.'), following the completion of a Distribution and Manufacturing Agreement ('the Agreement') with Eco-Polymers, a subsidiary of the Fujairah Plastics Group ('Fujairah'), of Sharjah, U.A.E. through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Symphony Environmental Limited. The Agreement was announced on 29 April 2008


The initial order for 500 tons of d2w® polymer has been placed to meet the anticipated substantial demand and shipments have commenced in accordance with the Agreement. 


The launch and presentation was held in Dubai today under the patronage and in the presence of, of His Excellency Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water of the U.A.E.  A press briefing took place and extensive on-going media coverage is expected during and after the event. Key note speeches were  made by His Excellency Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad and also the HonNirj Deva, DL, Member of the European Parliament and, Chairman of Symphony. 


Product endorsements and displays of  d2w® oxo-biodegradable plastics at the event were made by The Dubai Municipality, Sharjah Cooperative, Marks & Spencer, Aswaaq Supermarket Group, Emirates Environmental NGO,  and Al Safeer Group of Companies.
