                           Directors' share purchase


The Company has pleasure in announcing that Mr K D'Silva and Mr P Holland,
non-executive directors of Surface Transforms plc, have each purchased 100,000
shares in the company at a price of 27.5p. This purchase was finalised at 9.00am
yesterday morning following the release of the United States Air Force contract
success.

Kevin D'Silva and Peter Holland both joined the board earlier this year, and at
the time expressed the wish to acquire a stake in the Company. Julio Faria has
recognised the importance of their commitment to the future of the Company, and
has therefore agreed to make available some of his personal holding of the
stock.

This takes Kevin D'Silva and Peter Holland's holdings to 105,967 and 110,758
shares respectively representing 1.1% and 1.2% of the Company's current issued
share capital.

Following the sale of 200,000 shares at a price of 27.5p, Julio Faria now holds
2,423,845 shares, representing 25.8% of the current issued share capital. These
are the first shares that Julio Faria has released since admission to AIM in
September 2002 and he has explicitly stated that he has no intention of
transferring any additional shares.
