STV PLAYER SECURES ADDITIONAL NEW CONTENT PARTNERS

5 March 2019

STV has confirmed two new partnerships with international content providers, Flame Distribution and Jukin Media to provide additional programming and choice for viewers as its video on demand service, STV Player, continues to expand.

Jukin Media is owner/ operator of multimedia entertainment brands FailArmy, The Pet Collective, and People Are Awesome; those immensely popular properties provide comedic and inspirational video content to tens of millions of followers on social media, and will now be available on STV Player.

"We're committed to making our brands available everywhere there's an active, enthusiastic audience consuming video content, and STV Player absolutely fits that description," said Cameron Saless, Chief Growth Officer of Jukin Media.

Flame Distribution is an international distributor of factual, unscripted and documentary content representing more than 140 independent producers from around the world.  Programmes which will air on STV Player include Recipes That Rock and Grand Tours of Scotland.

Thomas Gould, Flame's VP Sales - Middle East, Hungary & Turkey Worldwide Transport Sales & Digital Sales EMEA, said: "Flame is delighted to be working with STV.  We feel that our titles will be a perfect match for their customers and will play a role in generating more customers for their service. We look forward to working with STV on more future deals!"

Last year, STV announced a new strategic growth plan for the business, creating a dedicated digital division to drive growth through the STV Player and deliver a personalised STV for everyone.  These new partnerships follow recent extensions to the range of content available through Eleven Sports, Hopster and Little Dot Studio to deliver increased choice across children's, factual, drama, entertainment and sports programming.

Today's announcement follows the launch, last week, of STV Player+, an ad-free subscription video on demand service for Scots at home and abroad.  Strategic partnerships have also recently been confirmed with both Sky and Virgin extending the reach of the STV Player to new audiences.

Richard Williams, STV's Managing Director, Digital, said: "Flame and Jukin Media offer hugely popular programming and content, and we are delighted that, through these partnerships, we are able to further enhance our offering to STV viewers."
