On 3 March 2000 the Company was advised that the following awards were made on
29 February 2000, to directors under the Scottish Media Group Performance
Share Plan:-

On the same date, the Company was advised that the Scottish Media Group
Employee Trust which holds shares in order to satisfy awards made to directors
and staff under various Scottish Media Group share plans, subscribed on 1
March 2000 for 59,753 shares in Scottish Media Group plc ('the Company') at a
price of 1247.5 pence per share.  The shares will be used to satisfy awards
which have been made to the directors of the Company under the Scottish Media
Group Performance Share Plan ('the Plan') provided the Company attains the
performance targets set under the rules of the Plan.

The executive directors named above have each declared their interests in
these shares as potential beneficiary under the Plan.
