Purchase of own shares

Starvest plc (the 'Company') announces that on 16 January 2007, the Company
purchased through its broker, Simple CFDs, 500,000 Ordinary shares of 1p each in
the issued share capital of the Company at a price of 17 pence per Ordinary
share.  These Ordinary shares are to be held as treasury stock.

Following the above purchase, the Company holds 500,000 Ordinary shares in
treasury and the total issued share capital of the Company less treasury shares
is 36,717,259 Ordinary shares.

This purchase was made pursuant to the authority granted by Shareholders at the
Company's annual general meeting held on 12 December 2006.  To date, 500,000
Ordinary shares have been purchased under this authority.
