                                 AGM STATEMENT

Stagecoach Theatre Arts plc operates the UK's largest franchise network of
part-time performing arts schools for children aged between 4 and 16.

At the AGM of Stagecoach Theatre Arts plc (AIM: STA), the UK's largest franchise
operator of a network of part-time performing arts schools, being held today at
10.00am, David Sprigg, Joint Managing Director, will make the following
statement:

'This year has been one of continuing growth in our core Stagecoach Theatre Arts
business together with a substantial reduction in our overheads and we were
delighted to announce, in our preliminary announcement, a return to
profitability for the Group.

Post year-end, the Group's programme of cost cutting has continued and I look
forward to seeing the benefits of this action in the current year ahead.

This progress has continued and I am pleased to report that the Group has made a
good start to the current financial year. Further growth in the Stagecoach
Theatre Arts UK network continues, with 9 new Stagecoach schools and 15 Early
Stages classes opened this month. I am pleased to see that demand for private
performing arts tuition continues to grow steadily.'
