SJPC was notified on 2 May 2006 of the following changes in interests in
ordinary shares of 15p in SJPC held by the executive Directors and Persons
Discharging Managerial Responsibilities ('PDMRs') named below.

On 2 May 2006, the executive Directors and PDMRs named below exercised options
under the SJPC Sharesave Share Option Scheme 2000 as follows:

SJPC was further notified on 2 May 2006 that, following the grant of a decree
absolute, Andrew Croft, executive Director of SJPC, ceased to be interested in
2,000 ordinary shares of 15p in SJPC held by his ex-wife.

With the exception of the changes notified in this announcement, the interests
in the ordinary shares of SJPC of the Directors and PDMRs set out above are
unchanged.

This notification is made in accordance with section 324 (as extended by section
328) of the Companies Act 1985 and Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a).
