Scottish & Southern Energy PLC 29 August 2007 29 August 2007 SCOTTISH AND SOUTHERN ENERGY PLC INVESTS A FURTHER £1.1M IN SOLARCENTURY Scottish and Southern Energy plc ('SSE') has made a further £1.1 million investment in Solarcentury Holdings Ltd ('Solarcentury'). The new investment forms part of a new £13.5 million round of financing that will enable Solarcentury to fund its product development and international expansion strategy. It leaves SSE with a 12.3% share in the company. SSE recognises the growing contribution of renewable technologies in the UK energy market. Its further investment in the Solarcentury business reflects the success of the existing relationship between the two businesses and confidence in the future of this sector.
