GeoVS System Order

SRT, the AIM-quoted provider of maritime domain awareness technologies, is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with its local partner for the supply of its dynamic 3D GeoVS maritime display system to a major port in Malaysia.

The system includes both GeoVS HUB and VIEWER products which are used to store, process, manage and display AIS and other maritime data.  Additionally 15 AIS AtoN Express products are being supplied which will be installed on the coast and various buoys to receive AIS messages and improve waterway navigation safety and efficiency.  The full system will be delivered this financial year.

Simon Tucker, CEO of SRT, said:

"Malaysia is in the process of a significant upgrade to its maritime domain awareness capabilities across ports, waterways and its exclusive economic zone.  This contract supports that process and is a major endorsement of our new GeoVS products, Coast Station and Express AtoN AIS transceivers.  The contract was awarded to our local partner after extensive trials which demonstrated and proved the benefits of dynamic 3D display.  We look forward to expanding our activities across more marine segments in this important market."

These are customised and provided to a global customer base to meet worldwide market demand to identify and track vessels of all sizes in leisure, commercial and homeland security applications.

About Automatic Identification System (AIS)

AIS is an international maritime tracking and monitoring technology developed and maintained by the ITU under the auspices of the IMO and UN. Since the first global mandate by the IMO on all ocean going vessels over 300GT in 2002, AIS has proliferated worldwide to become the technology of choice to enhance maritime domain awareness:  vessel tracking, port and coast security, pollution monitoring, fisheries management.

AIS is a sophisticated real time mesh network technology which uses an intelligent combination of VHF and GPS technologies to provide constantly updated data on the identity and movement of vessels and other marine objects. For further information please visit: www.allaboutais.com
