Board Changes

Spire Healthcare Group plc ("Spire" or the "Company"), the leading UK private hospital group, announces that Rob Roger has informed the Board of his intention to leave Spire in order to take up a role as CEO of a large privately financed property business, details of which will be announced shortly.

Rob will remain as Chief Executive Officer of the Company until 30 June 2016 in order to manage the presentation on 17 March 2016 of the Company's annual results for the financial year ended 31 December 2015 (which are expected to be in line with market guidance) and to ensure an orderly handover.

Garry Watts, the Company's Chairman, has agreed to resume his previous role as Executive Chairman (a role he held from 2011 to 2014). Garry will assume this role immediately and for a period of up to 12 months from Rob's departure. Andrew White, who joined Spire in November 2015 as Chief Operating Officer, will join the Board as an Executive Director with effect from 1 July 2016.

Garry Watts said:

"Rob has been with the business for over 9 years. He played an integral part in the formation of Spire in 2007 and since then has been an important member of the Spire team, first as CFO and then from 2011 as CEO. He has overseen the significant growth of the Company both organically and through acquisition, as well as successfully guiding it through both the Competition Commission investigation into the Private Healthcare Sector and then the Initial Public Offering on the London Stock Exchange. Under his leadership, Spire has become one of the leading UK private hospital groups. We will obviously be sad to see Rob depart, but wish him well in his new role."

John Gildersleeve, Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director, said:

"Rob and Garry have been an effective team together at Spire for over five years. As Rob moves on I am delighted that Garry has agreed to resume his role as Executive Chairman. With Andrew joining him and Simon Gordon on the Board, I am confident that our progress and growth will continue unabated."

Further announcements will be made in due course regarding the Spire CEO role.

Note: Andrew White

Andrew joined Spire as Chief Operating Officer on 1 November 2015 from Serco where, as a member of the Executive Team, he held a number of senior positions including CEO Serco UK and Europe, Group Operations Director and Group Marketing Director.   Prior to Serco, Andrew worked at Nomura Principal Finance Group and served as an Army Officer in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and the first Gulf War.
