                                Board Appointment


The Board of Speedy Hire Plc ('Speedy') is pleased to announce the appointment
of Michael McGrath as an Executive Director with effect from the start of the
new financial year in April 2006.

Mike (38) is currently a partner in Pinsent Masons, the Company's solicitors,
and has acted as Company Secretary on a part-time basis since 2001.

Mike has been involved with Speedy since 1993, having advised in relation to the
majority of its acquisitions and a wide range of legal and corporate issues
since then.

In addition to his continuing responsibility for all legal, secretarial and
governance matters, Mike will undertake a wider role working alongside the
existing team in the implementation of the Group's strategy.
