Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Resonsibility ('PDMR') - Interest
in Shares - amendment

The following announcement replaces the announcement released at 15:53 on 10
July 2006 under RNS number: 9613F.  Michael A McGrath's Joining Share Awards and
Total Joining Award Shares Held now reads 44,728 in place of 43,918.  All other
details remain unchanged.



Speedy Hire announces the following changes to Directors' and PDMR's interests
in the Company's ordinary 5p shares ('Shares').

Share Awards to Directors and PDMR

Further to the announcement on Wednesday 5 July 2006 of the purchase of Shares
by Directors and PDMR pursuant to the Speedy Hire 2004 Co-Investment Plan
('CIP'), awards of Matching Shares have been made on Thursday 6 July 2006 under
the CIP, and an equivalent award over Shares has been made to Michael A McGrath
under his 'Joining Award' (the 'Joining Award Shares').  Awards have also been
made under the Speedy Hire Performance Share Plan ('PSP').  The CIP and PSP
(together the 'Plans') were approved by shareholders at the AGM in July 2004.

The awards comprise rights to acquire Shares at nil cost, subject to the rules
of the Plans and to the applicable performance targets.  The Joining Award is a
one-off award made to Michael A McGrath in connection with his appointment as a
director of the Company, as referred to in the Annual Report and Accounts.  It
comprises a right to acquire Shares at nil cost and is subject to the same terms
of a Matching Share Award under the CIP.

Matching Share Awards were made on Thursday 6 July 2006 under the CIP to
