Spectris plc ('Spectris') (LSE: SXS), the expert in providing insight through precision measurement, today announces that Nick Anderson has been appointed to its Board as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 June 2024.

Nick recently retired from the FTSE 100 industrial engineering company Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, after ten years as Chief Executive. During his tenure, Nick oversaw the growth of sales and profits by over 2.5 times and the quadrupling of the company's market capitalisation.  

Nick brings a wealth of international and broader industrial and end market experience. Prior to joining Spirax-Sarco Engineering in 2011, he was Vice-President of John Crane Asia Pacific (part of the Smiths Group plc) based in Singapore and President of John Crane Latin America, based in the US. Previously, he held senior management roles with Alcoa Aluminio in Argentina and Brazil.

Nick is currently a Non-executive Director of BAE Systems plc.

Nick will join the Nomination and Governance Committee on his appointment to the Board.
