Appointment of Head of Exploration
Sound Oil plc announces that it has appointed Dr. Michael Cope as Head of
Exploration based at their new office in Fetcham, Surrey. Dr. Cope has
been a petroleum geologist for more than twenty-five years and brings a wealth
of operational experience to the Company. His most recent position was as
Principal Geologist with Schlumberger's WesternGeco seismic division where his
main focus was new ventures prospectivity assessment. Previously he held a
variety of senior exploration positions with the Petrofina Group and with Texaco
working on projects in Africa, Central Asia, the Far East and the Northwest
European Shelf. He holds BSc and PhD degrees in geology from the University of
London.
The Company's new office address is: Fetcham Park House, Lower Road,
Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 9HD (Tel 01372 371 010).
