Sopheon and iVenturi Collaborate to Deliver First Complete Online Worksystem
to Accelerate New Product Development


           Sopheon awarded $500,000 contract plus share of revenue

         Alliance Pairs Industry-leading Knowledge Management Company

               with Innovative, Web-based Worksystem Developer

Sopheon plc ('Sopheon'), the international knowledge management software,
services and content group, and iVenturi today announced a global strategic
alliance in which the two companies will collaborate in the ongoing
development of specific components of iVenturi's Web-based worksystem designed
to accelerate new product development.  The iVenturi-Sopheon collaboration
represents the first step in what both companies intend to be a long-term
strategic relationship that will initially result in the creation of the first
complete online product development platform.


iVenturi will integrate Sopheon's Accolade system as a central component of
its new Web-based product development solution.  Accolade is a new offline
software system that automates the Stage-GateO new product development system,
which is used by an estimated 60 per cent of technology-driven companies in
North America.   While Sopheon will integrate its offline Accolade system into
iVenturi, it also will continue to independently market Accolade to prospects
and clients as part of its industry-leading offering of knowledge management
solutions.

iVenturi will provide online access to the only comprehensive hosted
worksystem with the capacity to significantly reduce costly slippage in
developing and launching new products, as well as management tools to ensure
resources are deployed against products with the greatest market potential.
According to a National Science Foundation estimate, U.S. companies spent $247
billion on R&D in 1999 and studies have shown that close to half of the
resources invested in new product development and commercialization are spent
on products that never reach the marketplace or fail to be commercially
successful.

iVenturi and the development of our online worksystem of tools and business
services for enhancing and accelerating new product development,' said Brett

partnership, which will serve as a cornerstone of the iVenturi solution.'


iVenturi's worksystem will be available for a monthly subscription fee, of
which Sopheon will receive a percentage in return for the inclusion of
Accolade in the iVenturi worksystem.  Sopheon will also be able to provide
other services and products related to new product development through
iVenturi's worksystem.  iVenturi will pay Sopheon a license fee of $500,000
for its integration of Sopheon software.

Sopheon's Accolade system was designed in conjunction with professors Robert
Cooper and Scott Edgett, internationally recognized authorities on new product
management whose work is the basis for the renowned Stage-Gate system of the
Ontario-based Product Development Institute, Inc. (PDI).  Accolade's
combination of software applications, expert services and specialized content
provides a flexible framework for new product development processes from
inception to launch. The Accolade solution is preloaded with product
development best-practices content created by Cooper and Edgett, and
industry-specific content generated by Sopheon.
