                             Purchase of Own Shares


On 10 January 2004 Solid State Supplies plc (the 'Company') bought 14,812
ordinary shares for cancellation at 53 pence per share, representing 0.24 per
cent. of the Company's current issued ordinary share capital.


Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company has 6,156,511 ordinary
shares in issue.
