                   Change of name to Smurfit Kappa Group plc


Smurfit Kappa plc announces that, following receipt of confirmation from the
Irish Registrar of Companies, the Company's name has been changed from Smurfit
Kappa plc to Smurfit Kappa Group plc. Trading under the new name will commence
from 8am, 4 April 2007.
