Smiths announces new Non-executive Director

Smiths Group plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Seligman as an independent Non-executive Director with effect from 16 May 2016.

Mr Seligman is also the Senior Independent Director of Kingfisher plc and was, until recently, a Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of BG Group plc.  He was previously Deputy Chairman of G4S plc.  Mr Seligman has a MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

 

The Chairman of Smiths Group, Sir George Buckley, said: "The Board is delighted to welcome Mark, who I know will bring a huge amount of value to the Board after a long and successful career in banking.  I am delighted to have someone of Mark's calibre join the Board to support the Executive's growth agenda at this exciting time in Smiths Group's development."

Mr Seligman will be a member of the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

Mr Seligman is currently a director of Kingfisher plc. During the last five years, he has held directorships in the publicly listed companies G4S plc and BG Group plc.   There is no other information concerning Mr Seligman which requires notification under LR9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
