Board change


DS Smith is pleased to announce that George Adams, a Non-Executive Director of DS Smith Plc since January 2008, will become Chief Executive of Spicers, its Office Products Wholesaling Division with effect from 16 June 2009.  


As a result of this appointment, George stepped down from the DS Smith Plc Board on 26 May 2009. 


George takes over as Chief Executive of Spicers from Rob Vale, who relinquished this position in March 2009.


George was, until March 2008, MD European Development and CEO UK Trade for Kingfisher plc. Since then, George has been working throughout Europe with a number of privately owned companies.


Tony Thorne, Group Chief Executive of DS Smith Plc commented: 'George brings with him to Spicers not only a wealth of relevant business experience both in the UK and continental Europe but also a good understanding of the Spicers business.
