Advanced Smartcard Technologies plc First Day of Dealings on AIM Advanced Smartcard Technologies plc is pleased to announce the Admission and first day of dealing of its shares on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange. Shares will commence trading today under the ticker of "SMRT". AST's operating subsidiary Ecebs Limited (Electronic Commerce Enabled By Smartcards) is a profit making software business with a rapidly growing base of clients and partners including blue-chip organisations such as Royal Bank of Scotland and BT alongside local authorities, government departments, passenger transport executives and world leading technology companies. Ecebs has developed a revolutionary new smartcard enabling software product branded Multefile. Multefile cards can hold more than one application and have the flexibility to be easily modified according to each client's requirements. A unique attribute of Multefile is that it has been designed to allow card issuers to update and manage all aspects of their smartcards without specialist technical assistance. In contrast with some existing proprietary solutions, Multefile also allows the functionality of the cards to be dramatically changed in a low cost and time efficient manner - even after the card has been issued. The Company currently has a confirmed order book of around £1.8 million. It also has additional strong sales prospects at an advanced stage worth an estimated sales value of £5 million and a further potential sales prospect pipeline worth an estimated £10 million. 25,000,000 new Ordinary Shares have been issued at 3 pence per shares. This represents a total of 12.67% of the issued share capital of the company immediately following the Placing, equating to gross proceeds of £750,000.
