Retirement of Group Finance Director and announcement of successor

 

SIG plc announces that Doug Robertson, who is 63 this year, will retire from the Group and the Board during the first quarter of 2017.  He will be succeeded by Nick Maddock, currently Chief Financial Officer at McCarthy & Stone plc.  Precise dates will be announced once determined.

 

Stuart Mitchell, Group Chief Executive of SIG plc, said:

 

"Doug has been with SIG as Group Finance Director for five years, during which time he has made a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the business and overseen major operational improvements, in particular relating to our IT transformation programme.  He leaves with our very best wishes for the future.

 

"We are pleased to announce that Doug will be succeeded by Nick Maddock who brings with him a strong track record as a CFO and has played a key role in McCarthy & Stone's success.  We look forward to welcoming Nick to SIG."

Notes:

Nick Maddock biography

Nick Maddock has held his current position with McCarthy & Stone since September 2011, having previously worked as Finance Director for Centrica; as Financial Controller at British Gas; and as a Director in Mergers and Acquisitions at ING Barings. Nick trained as a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser at Ernst & Young.
