The Company was notified on 8 August 2006 pursuant to Section 198 of the
Companies Act 1985 that, as the result of recent purchases FMR Corporation and
Fidelity International Limited and its subsidiaries are to be regarded as having
a material interest in 16,976,491 ordinary shares of 10 pence in SIG plc
representing 13.80% of the issued share capital.
