SIG PLC 3 September 2001 3 September 2001 SIG acquires UK and Eire building materials distributor for £26.7M SIG plc, Europe's largest specialist distributor of insulation, ceilings and partitioning and roofing products, today announces that it has acquired Capco Holdings Ltd (Capco) for a cash consideration of £26.7m. Like SIG, Capco is a specialist distributor of ceilings and partitioning, insulation and roofing products. It operates from 19 branches in the UK and Eire and in the year to 31 March 2001 it recorded sales of £60m and operating profits of £3.4m. Net assets acquired amount to £4.9m. Bill Forrester Chief Executive of SIG commented: 'Capco is a perfect fit for SIG. It consolidates our position in our principal product areas, with little geographical overlap, and provides us with a market leading position in Eire. There is also scope to improve Capco's margins and we expect it to be earnings enhancing in the first year.'
