Operations Update, June 2012

Edenville Energy plc (AIM:EDL), the coal focused African energy exploration and development company, is pleased to announce that last week it's Chairman, Simon Rollason and Managing Director Mark Pryor were invited to the capital city of Dodoma to discuss the Rukwa Coalfield Project ("the Project") and proposed future plans for the advancement of the project with the Prime Minister of Tanzania, Mr Mizengo Pinda (photos on web site).

The Prime Minister has closely followed our exploration work with interest and is very supportive of our efforts. Successful development of the Rukwa Coalfields would directly assist the region with the generation of power in the near future thus avoiding the reliance on imported electricity from neighbouring states and/or generator produced power. The coalfield could also potentially provide a source of coal in the region for local industries, such as textile and cement factories.

The Prime Minister was greatly encouraged by the advances we have made in the short time the Company has been working on the coal deposits and is looking forward to seeing the future of the region grow with the help of a guaranteed power source.

The Prime Minister also facilitated a series of follow-up meetings and presentations with TANESCO, the Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited, which is a parastatal organization of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. TANESCO generates, transmits, distributes and sells electricity to Tanzania.

Tansheq Consultants, a Dar es Salaam based consulting group associated with the international consulting group, Golder Associates, has been retained by the Company to undertake a Preliminary Feasibility Study ("PFS") and an Environmental Impact Assessment ("EIA") on the Rukwa Coalfield Project. The EIA commenced on 28th May with the registration of the project with the National Environment Management Council ("NEMC"). It is anticipated this study will take approximately 6 months complete.

Commenting today Simon Rollason, Chairman of Edenville, said; "This is an important step towards our vision of the Rukwa Coalfield Project becoming the source for a mine-mouth coal-to-power generation facility, providing power to the region of South-West Tanzania. It is very encouraging that we have strong governmental support and will continue establishing early dialogue with key players in the Tanzanian energy sector. With the recently announced resource statement we have the foundation stone from which the Rukwa Project will significantly grow. We look forward to updating our shareholders with progress reports during the course of the 2012 field season."
