Initial Grab Samples, Muze Project, Rukwa Coalfields

Edenville Energy plc (AIM:EDL), the coal focused African energy exploration and development company, is pleased to announce that five rock sample results have been received from the first set of sampling carried out at the Muze basin.  Muze, Mkmolo and Namwele are the three known coal bearing basins controlled by Edenville in the Rukwa Coalfield of southern Tanzania.

The Muze project lies approximately 10km east from the Mkomolo and Namwele deposits; drilling is already underway to expand upon the Company's April 2012 resource estimate of 39 million tonnes of thermal coal at Mkomolo . The Muze area has a historical, non-JORC compliant resource of 60 million tonnes and is scheduled for initial drilling later this year. The Muze drill program will commence as soon as the geological mapping and surface sampling of the coal seams and the surrounding rocks is complete.

An initial set of surface grab samples (tabled below) were submitted and analysed by the Alfred H Knight Laboratory, Ayrshire, an internationally accredited coal analysis laboratory.

The results indicate that Gross Caloric Values ("C.V") are similar to the Mkomolo and Namwele deposits and classed as Sub-Bituminous Thermal Coal, suitable for thermal power generation.

In accordance with the AIM Rules, the information in this announcement has been reviewed by Mark Pryor, Managing Director of Edenville Energy PLC, a qualified geologist with over 25 years' experience.

Commenting today Simon Rollason, Chairman of Edenville, said; "These initial sample results are very encouraging and are in line with our expectations based on the more detailed work as reported in the April 2012 maiden resource report on Mkomolo. This initial phase of sampling is now being followed up with, and supported by, systematic geological mapping and sampling to enable our team to plan the initial Muze drillhole locations more accurately. The objective of this work will be to enable us to verify Muze's quoted historical resource of 60 million tonnes and for our consultants to estimate an initial Inferred JORC Resource for this important block of ground once drilling and sample analysis has been completed."
