Further Drill Results and Update, Rukwa Coal Project, Tanzania

Edenville Energy plc (AIM:EDL), the coal focused African energy exploration and development company, today announces additional assay results from the recently completed resource delineation drill programme at the Rukwa Coalfield project in South Western Tanzania.

Highlights:

·         Rukwa Coalfield

o previously producing small-scale, near-surface coalfield

o primary targets across Mkomolo and Namwele basins

·         Positive coal analysis received for additional 6 drill holes

·         Results indicate coal quality identified in earlier drillholes continues into northern part of Mkomolo Basin

·         Sample results from deeper intersections (>220m) indicate presence of multiple coal seams

·         2011 drill programme completed at Mkomolo and Namwele, final assay results pending

·         JORC compliant coal resource assessment of suitability for near term, open pit coal production at Rukwa scheduled for Q1 2012

Commenting today Simon Rollason, Chairman of Edenville, commented today; "These drill results demonstrate that the known coal resource extends northwards into a new area with consistent coal grades which we believe will be economically exploitable. The results also indicate that the coal strata increase in thickness and at this time remain open-ended to the north and at depth.

While we are now rescheduling publication of a JORC compliant primary resource, due to a lag within the South African laboratories, we maintain the belief that our strategy to provide coal feed to the power generation industry in Southern Africa region, particularly Tanzania is highly viable. I look forward to announcing a JORC resource early next year and then progress a low capex, producing coal project to a high demand market place on our doorstep."

Coal Quality and Resource Testing

Additional Float & Sink analysis from holes MK11-12 to MK-11-17, cored in the recent drill programme has now been received from the Inspectorate Laboratory in South Africa. This analysis indicates the amount (% yield) and quality of coal that could be obtained from the deposit by mining and processing.

The drillholes are located in the middle to northern part of the Mkomolo basin and are all drilled vertically. The basin remains open-ended to the north of the last drill hole and will be explored by prospecting and pitting and then by additional drilling during the 2012 field season. To date work has focused mainly on Mkomolo, which is only one of the three known deposits in the Coalfield and we will look to evaluate the other deposits during the 2012 field season.

These results confirm the presence of coal bearing strata in all holes reported and supports the observations made in the drilling that the coal measures and associated coal bearing strata thicken progressively northwards through the basin. Holes MK11-16 and MK11-17 demonstrate that the coal quality continues at depth and this depth extension to the mineralisation, together with further exploration along the potential strike continuation to the north will be the focus of planned field work, including extensive drilling in 2012.

Resource Estimation

Due to the slower than anticipated sample turn-around time from the laboratory, the planned maiden resource estimation will be undertaken by the consultants engaged for this exercise, Wardell-Armstrong International ("WAI"), a leading international consultancy in the Coal Industry during Q1 2012.

In accordance with the AIM Rules, the information in this announcement has been reviewed by Mark J. Pryor, Managing Director of Edenville Energy PLC, a qualified geologist with over 25 years' experience.
