SHIRES INCOME PLC APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

David Kidd was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Shires Income plc with
effect from 12 February 2004.

Please note that in accordance with Listing Rule 16.4(a) there are no publicly
quoted directorships to be disclosed.

In addition, in accordance with Listing Rule 16.4(b) there are no details to be
