SHIRES INCOME PLC APPOINTS NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Board of Shires Income plc announces the appointment of Andrew Robson as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 16 May 2008.

In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13R(1) Mr Robson is currently Director of the following publicly quoted companies:

M & G Equity Investment Trust P.L.C 

JPMorgan Smaller Companies Investment Trust Plc 

Mr Robson was also a Director of Edinburgh UK Smaller Companies Tracker Trust PLC until December 2006.

In addition, in accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13R there are no details to be disclosed in respect of the requirements in paragraphs (2) to (6) 

Shires Income plc is managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited.
