SCOTT WILSON APPOINTED BY MTR CORPORATION FOR DESIGN PACKAGE ON SHATIN TO CENTRAL LINK IN HONG KONG

Scott Wilson Group plc ("Scott Wilson" or "the Group"), the global integrated design and engineering consultancy for the built and natural environments, is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by MTR Corporation for a design package on the Shatin to Central Link (SCL), a strategic rail link connecting the North East New Territories with Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.

The contract follows Scott Wilson's appointment last year by MTR Corporation to design the South Horizon Station, Lei Tung Station and Tunnels for the South Island Line in Hong Kong.

As part of the package that has been awarded, Scott Wilson is responsible for the detailed design of extensive upgrades at nine existing stations on the Ma On Shan Line to cater for 8-car trains and a new above-ground station at Hin Keng. Scott Wilson and its sub-consultants will also carry out detailed design of a new viaduct and about 120m of cut-and-cover tunnel running from Hin Keng Station to a long tunnel under Lion Rock.

The project will commence on 3 May 2010.

Hugh Blackwood, Group Chief Executive, comments, "This is another important contract win for our international Regions. It is testament to the strong relationship we have developed with MTR following the South Island contract win and it reinforces our position to deliver multi-million pound high profile and strategically important infrastructure projects in the region."
