INTERIM ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 MARCH 2001

Severn Trent Plc will announce its Interim Results for the half year ending 30
September 2000 on Tuesday 28 November 2000.

At the same time the Company will also declare an interim dividend on the
Company's Ordinary Shares of 65 5/19 pence each for the year ending 31 March
2001.

Associated dates relating to the payment of this interim dividend are as
follows:-

Ex-dividend date         21 February 2001
Record Date              23 February 2001
Payment Date              6 April 2001
