On 19th October 2001, the Company was informed that the shareholding of
Fidelity International Ltd (and its direct and indirect subsidiaries) in the
Ordinary Shares of 65 5/19p each of Severn Trent Plc had decreased to
10,188,322 shares, representing 2.97% of the total issued share capital of
that class.
Their interest in these shares is non-beneficial and the shares were acquired
solely for investment purposes.
