                      OF TRISTONE CAPITAL AS JOINT BROKER

London, June 8, 2007 - Serica Energy plc ('Serica' or the 'Company') has
appointed Tristone Capital Limited ('Tristone') as joint broker in addition to
JPMorgan Cazenove, the Company's current broker and NOMAD.

Tristone is an energy advisory firm with strong technical oil and gas expertise,
providing investment banking, acquisitions and divestiture and equity capital
markets services with particular focus in the UK and Canada.
