Lagos and London, 24 June 2019:  Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc ("Seplat" or the "Company"), a leading Nigerian indigenous oil and gas company dual-listed on The Nigerian Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange, today announces:

Resignation of a Non-Executive Director: The voluntary resignation/retirement of Mr. Macaulay Agbada Ofurhie from the Board of the Company effective 30th June 2019. Mr. Ofurhie was appointed to the Board in March 2010 and served meritoriously before his resignation.

Appointment of a new Company Secretary/Chief Governance and Compliance Officer: The appointment of Mrs. Edith Onwuchekwa as the new Company Secretary/Chief Governance and Compliance Officer of Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc effective 24th June 2019. In her role as the Company Secretary/Chief Governance and Compliance Officer, Mrs. Onwuchekwa will guide and support the Board of Directors of Seplat in ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University of Uyo; Barrister at Law from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja; and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.

Prior to joining Seplat, Mrs. Onwuchekwa was the Legal and Compliance Director at Lafarge Plc. She will replace Dr. Mirian Kene Kachikwu who held the position from November 2014 till date but remains the General Counsel of the Company to manage its Legal Directorate.
