                       Possible offer interest lapses
                                                                            
In  the  announcement of the results of its strategic review on 17 May  2000,
the Board of Senior noted that one party, a consortium of trade and financial
purchasers, remained interested in a possible offer for Senior.   Senior  has
now  been  informed  by  the financial adviser and  the  proposed  lead  debt
provider  to  the consortium that they have both terminated their involvement
in the potential transaction.  The Board of Senior therefore confirms that it
is no longer in discussions which may lead to an offer for the Group.
