The issuer has advised that the Senior plc 'Holding in Company' announcement
released under 5955S at 17:51 on 7 March 2002 has been withdrawn and should be
disregarded.

The announcement related to an erroneous notification to the Company by Chase
Nominees Limited of holdings which had previously been included in disclosures
made to the Company by their nominee holder, Schroder Investment Management
Limited.  These holdings in the company had therefore been previously reported.
