BIOSCIENCE VCT PLC (the 'Company')


ISSUE OF EQUITY

BioScience VCT plc announces that on 23 December 2002 and 3 January 2003 the
Company issued and allotted 10,124 and 3,067 new ordinary shares of 50p each
respectively.  The issued share capital of the Company is now 7,180,100 ordinary
shares.  The new shares were issued for cash at a price of 100p each.

Application will be made for admission of the new ordinary shares to trading on
the London Stock Exchange, with dealings expected to commence on Friday
17 January 2003.
