                      Slough Estates plc (the 'Company')

Application has been made to the Financial Services Authority and the London
Stock Exchange plc for 180,682 Ordinary shares of 25p each ('shares') to be
admitted to the Official List. It is expected admission will be granted on 31
May 2001 and that trading will commence on 01 June 2001.

These shares are being issued as a result of the appropriation under the
company's Profit Sharing Scheme and will rank pari passu with the existing
issued ordinary shares.
