Seeing Machines and CAE Australia to deliver Crew Training System for Australian Defence customer

Seeing Machines Limited (AIM: SEE, "Seeing Machines" or the "Company"), the advanced computer vision technology company that designs AI-powered operator monitoring systems to improve transport safety, is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by CAE Australia ("CAE")  to integrate its precision eye-tracking technology, for an Australian defence industry customer.

This engagement, valued at A$1m over five years, comes at the end of a successful direct engagement between Seeing Machines and an Australian defence industry innovation program delivered over the past two years. This program exceeded all  stakeholder expectations and has opened up several additional opportunities across the defence industry.

Seeing Machines has been collaborating with CAE for more than five years through a range of engagements to incorporate the Company's FOVIO eye-tracking technology into CAE commercial, military and rotary-wing flight training devices. This contract represents the first formal engagement between CAE and the Company and will deliver Seeing Machines' Crew Training System into this defence customer's flight training devices.

CAE and Seeing Machines will install and integrate the Crew Training System on three Lead-in Fighter Trainer Full Mission Simulators, to improve aircrew training with a specific focus on understanding where the pilot's attention is through Human-Machine Augmentation and Advanced Sensors. The Seeing Machines eye-tracking technology is a world-leading, proven, and unique capability to deliver improved aircrew training with more efficiency, while reducing costs and attrition.

The appointment of CAE and Seeing Machines is a working example of the customer's commitment to Australian innovation and sovereign industrial capability.

Matthew Sibree, Managing Director Asia-Pacific, CAE commented: "This is another great example of how government and industry can partner to deliver enhanced training and operational capability. We are pleased to collaborate with Seeing Machines to improve the training program that helps prepare the next-generation fighter pilots for this customer."

Patrick Nolan, GM of Aviation at Seeing Machines added: "We are delighted to be able to continue our engagement with CAE to deliver our technology, moving from an innovation program to a fully integrated, fully operational capability. This contract further reinforces the value of precision eye tracking in Aviation in support of pilot training, and we believe that the total market potential across global defence organisations for eye tracking technology is substantial."
