THE SCOTTISH AMERICAN INVESTMENT COMPANY PLC (SAINTS)
Mr William Berry (a Director) notified the Company by letter on 24th November
1999 that he had been advised that his resignation as a Trustee of Mrs I F
Crombie's Trust for Children had become effective as of 24th November 1999.
Mr Berry no longer has an interest in the Trust's holding of 9,200 SAINTS
shares.
