THE SCOTTISH AMERICAN INVESTMENT COMPANY PLC (SAINTS)
Mr William Berry (a Director) notified the Company by letter dated 5th January
2001 that he had resigned as a Trustee of S G Younger's 1968/78 Trust for
Children - Jonathan's Fund. With effect from 5th January 2001 Mr Berry no
longer has an interest in the Trust's holding of 10,185 SAINTS shares.
