Horgen, May 31, 2012 - Schweiter Technologies is strengthening European display operations at 3A Composites through the acquisition of Foamalite in Loch Gowna, Ireland, from Dublin-based One 51 plc.The transaction is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2012.In 2011, Foamalite generated revenues of around EUR 25 million with a workforce of 70.The purchase price for the debt-free company is in the single-digit million euro range.

Foamalite produces and sells PVC foam sheets and PET plastic sheets, serving segments throughout the entire European market. This acquisition will enable 3A Composites to further build on its lead role in Europe's foam sheet market and at the same time augment its product range with transparent plastic sheets. The market-leading PET-based products manufactured by Foamalite enjoy considerable growth potential thanks to the superior material properties of PET.
