Preparation for the transition to International Financial Reporting Standards

As part of Schroders plc's preparation for the adoption of International
Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Group will make a Stock Exchange
announcement on Wednesday 15 June 2005 explaining how the changes in accounting
treatment under IFRS impact on the Group's previously reported financial
statements for the year ended 31 December 2004 under UK Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles (UK GAAP) which were published on 1 March 2005.
