ISSUE of Shares

Schroder Oriental Income Fund Limited (the "Company") announces that, under the Block Listing arrangement, 500,000 Ordinary shares of 1p each were issued at a price of 123.75 pence per share on 16 October 2009. Following the issuance of these shares there are now 153,834,500 shares in issue, each carrying a right to vote at Company meetings.
