                              EXTERNAL DIRECTORSHIP

Schroder Oriental Income Fund Limited (the 'Company') announces in accordance
with Listing Rule 9.6.14R that Mr Christopher Sherwell, a non-executive Director
of the Company, has informed the Company that:

- Rutley European Property Limited, the Board of which he joined in November
2005, was admitted to Listing on the London Stock Exchange and the Channel
Islands Stock Exchange on 27 November 2006; and

- New Star RBC Hedge 250 Index Exchange Traded Securities PCC Limited, the Board
of which he joined in September 2006, was admitted to Listing on the London
Stock Exchange on 28 November 2006.

There have been no other changes to the information set out in Listing Rule
9.6.13R (1) to 9.6.13R (6) in respect of Mr Sherwell.
