                    Market Purchase of Company's Own Shares


Notification is given that pursuant to the authority granted at an Annual
General Meeting on 5 April 2004 to make market purchases of the Company's own
ordinary shares of 5p each, a market purchase of 1,050,000 ordinary shares in
the capital of the Company was made today at a price of 80p per share.

Following this purchase and cancellation there are 190,728,359 ordinary shares
in issue.
