                    Market Purchase of Company's Own Shares

Notification is given that pursuant to the authority granted at an Annual
General Meeting on 5 April 2004 to make market purchases of the Company's own
ordinary shares of 5p each, a market purchase of 260,000 ordinary shares in the
capital of the Company was made today at a price of 74p per share.

Following this purchase and cancellation there are 193,203,359 ordinary shares
in issue.
